(H027) Motherearth Face - Color Chart One of the natural wonders of the world is the Amazon Rainforest.  Our earth breathes through her trees.  I like to represent Mother Earth with a face and a single tree representing all trees.  It's easy to do; allowing the trunk to be the nose and the leaves the eyebrows. I began writing a screenplay in 1993 entitled The Sacred Tree with the last scene depicting our home planet from space.  This is my clay storyboard of the last scene.

(H028) Motherlove - Color Chart The original Motherlove is only three inches long.  I birthed this sculpture as my fifth grandchild was being born right before my eyes.  I had taken my clay with me for relaxation only, unaware that my hands were also giving birth.  So out of my emotional labor pains for my daughter and youngest grandchild, Motherlove came into being.

(H029) Mushroom - Color Chart It's amazing to me that in the space of a few hours, this strange form can appear, as if by magic, from a tiny spore, a bit of dew and some decomposed matter.  Such is the power of nature to create beauty along with function.  We so often forget that mushrooms and fungi are beneficial to the life of the forest, breaking down plant material so it can re-nourish the soil for future growth. It's freeing for me to let go when I make the mushroom; not worrying if they fit or not into someone else's idea of a mushroom.  But to let them grow too - like a tiny spore wet with dew - appearing too as if by magic.
